Getting to Nairobi
Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) is Nairobi's main international airport, located approximately 18 km (11 miles) from the city center.
Airport Transportation
Taxi/Ride-share: Plan for 30-60 minutes to reach most hotels, depending on traffic. Expect to pay approximately 2,000-3,000 KES ($15-23 USD). Uber and Bolt are widely available.
Visas
Most international visitors require a visa to enter Kenya. As of 2024, Kenya has implemented an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) system.
Apply online at etakenya.go.ke at least 3-7 days before travel

Yellow Fever Vaccination
A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for travelers coming from or transiting through yellow fever endemic countries. While not required for travelers coming directly from North America or Europe, we recommend checking the latest requirements based on your specific itinerary.
If your travel route includes a stopover in a yellow fever endemic country (including many countries in Africa and South America), you must present proof of vaccination upon arrival in Kenya.
Vaccination should be administered at least 10 days before travel
